Future development plans

The department wishes to reach out to more organizations/companies to create more institutional-industrial linkages and secure more industrial attachment opportunities for our esteemed trainees.

Industrial Liaison Officer ( Mr.Festus Simiyu)

The department is headed by industrial liaison officer (ILO), Mr. Festus Simiyu assisted by Industrial Attachment Committee members who are representatives of academic departments.

The department’s core functions are to promote acquisition of practical work, ethics and skills in trainees. It’s involved in coordinating industrial attachment activities in Ebukanga Technical and Vocational College. This it does by providing linkage to industries for provision and update of new technologies thus exposing the trainees to real work situation.

This goes a long way in producing a competent and productive person in the respective trade, a skilled worker with positive attitudes and ability for further self-development. The exercise also gives the trainee an opportunity to market his/her skills.

Attachment timings are as follows: Diploma-After first and second module of study, Craft courses-After module one examinations, and Artisan-After one year of study having done their final examination.

Attachment is compulsory to all trainees and takes a minimum of three months and a maximum of six months. Trainers at ebukanga technical and vocational college are also attached to acquire skills required in their area of specialization. This is done during holidays. A follow-up is done by the industrial liaison officer on behalf of the institution and the institution facilitates this exercise.

Departmental objectives:
